Minimum Service Period And Educational Qualifications Required To Be Candidate For Promotion
(1) In order to be a candidate for promotion, one has to possess the educational qualifications as prescribed for the post that is one class below the class of the post to which promotion is made and have completed
the minimum service period as follows:
(a) Three years for a non-gazetted post,
(b) Five years for a gazetted post.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), even though an Employee who is women, indigenous/nationality, Madhesi, Dalit, person with disability or a permanent resident of the backward region has a service period that is the above- mentioned service period less one year, such an Employee shall be
a potential candidate for promotion.
